The re-introduction of UCLAN’s Student Union Housing Awards for 2015 was a welcome distraction to the ever lively summer repair period for the Kexgill Preston team. The awards were on hiatus last year, so this year gave plenty of student accommodation providers the platform to showcase what they had achieved since 2013. This year’s event also marked the first time that Kexgill Preston had been awarded a nomination for the event.
Nominations were announced mid July and the Kexgill Preston team found themselves with four nominations in the following categories; Best Landlord of The Year Award, Value Deal of The Year Award and Best Halls of Residence of The Year Award. A fantastic achievement for the relatively new team heading up the Kexgill office – Ant Worswick (Manager) and Lyndsey Robinson (Assistant) – both with less than one years service at the company.
The informal event took place at lunchtime in late July. Ant and Lyndsey attended and were made to feel extremely welcome by the SU Team and made good use of the buffet! By the end of the ceremony, Kexgill had managed to scoop two awards – Value Deal of the Year and Best Halls of Residence (Ladywell Halls). A momentous achievement for the team!
Ant went on to say “These two awards mark a defining moment in Kexgill Preston’s history. It is fantastic to be recognised by the University for all the hard work the team has put in over the last 12 months. As always, we will strive to improve and come back even stronger next year. But it’s been the perfect way to round off a brilliant first year in charge”.
The team also would like to thank the UCLAN SU for all their hard work in organising the event itself.
